My husband reserved a car at A+ because of their low rates. When he arrived to pick up the car, he was asked to provide proof of insurance or purchase insurance from A+. He declined, deciding that he'd rather rent elsewhere. The next day he was charged over $30 as a cancellation fee.
When I saw the charge and called, I was told that it was company policy to charge this fee if the reservation was not cancelled 48 hours in advance. The clerk continued to defend the company's position so continuously that I was unable to ask any further questions. I was then put on hold and disconnected about 10 minutes later. Subsequent calls were not answered.
