Don't get me wrong, Dr. Hughes seemed to be a good doctor. She was friendly and informative, but horribly insensitive to the costs for her services.
During my visit, she casually offered to take a sample of skin from my back for analysis. When I checked my mail, I was horrified to see that she billed my insurance $196 for this less-than-5-minute ""procedure"". Had she told me it would cost the equivalent of an iPhone to cut off a piece of skin from my back, I would've done it myself.
And no, this does NOT include the cost of the lab services, which my insurance did cover. The doctor and her office was unsympathetic and stands by their whooping $3920/hour charge for this ""service"", insisting that this is how they make their living. Who knows what other ridiculous charges they might hit you with...
