Don't get me wrong, Dr. Hughes seemed to be a good doctor. She was friendly and informative, but horribly insensitive to the costs for her services. During my visit, she casually offered to take a sample of skin from my back for analysis. When I checked my mail, I was horrified to see that she billed my insurance $196 for this less-than-5-minute ""procedure"". Had she told me it would cost the equivalent of an iPhone to cut off a piece of skin from my back, I would've done it myself. And no, this does NOT include the cost of the lab services, which my insurance did cover. The doctor and her office was unsympathetic and stands by their whooping $3920/hour charge for this ""service"", insisting that this is how they make their living. I have known Dana Kluever for about a year in the capacity of volunteer community events. Today, I had the opportune pleasure of using his services. It was my first chemical peel and I was nervous. Dana had such a great way of making me feel comfortable, has a wonderful soothing voice and professional yet firm and perfect pressure hands.\r \r After my treatment, Dana explained to me that skin is the body's first defense for the immune system and if the skin is healthy it promotes overall health. I also found out that I was drying out my skin by using too hot of water when washing my face. By doing a few corrections, I will be on my way to repairing my skins natural moisture barrier by doing just a few simple steps.\r \r I highly recommend visiting Dana at least once to become more educated on skin care at the very least.\r \r Mercer Island Dermetology is very inviting with it's friendly customer service oriented desk staff. I went to Dr. Hughes office for a laser treatment for acne scarring. Dr. Hughes used the Deep FX and Active FX treatment on my face and neck. I was a bit apprehensive about the procedure but both Dr. Hughes and her staff were great about communicating with me what to expect and in preparing me for the procedure. I appreciate how Dr. Hughes communicated with me during the procedure and adjusted the treatment a bit to better suit my personal pain tolerance. Her office is very nicely appointment but it's the people that make the difference.\r \r If you live in Seattle or on the Eastside I can highly recommend this doctor and her staff. Staff was very courteous and professional. I had issues regarding excessive body hair and general skin \r care questions. Dr. Hughes was knowledgeable and provided many options. Laser hair removal was done in a very professional, modest manner. Unlike other spas I have visited, there was a physician on site at all times. I felt very comfortable. Pros: Thumbs up! I parked in the lower part of the building-plenty of parking. Nice clinic, great view! Cons: None so far. more
