I have been riding horses since I was two and taking lessons since I was six, but I can honestly say I didn't progress as a rider until I came to HHF in 2003. I'm so proud to be a part of this great place! It has everything you could want as either a student looking for a school or a boarder looking for a home. There are standard sized indoor and outdoors arenas, a challenging cross country course that prepares riders for anything that could be thrown at them at a show, a dressage ring, and a 1/8 mile race track (!). There are also four grass turnout paddocks, one largee dirt turnout, and several smaller one or two horse turnouts; HHF horses are out of their stalls playing for a minimum of five hours a day. Everything is up to date and beautifully maintained. The instruction at HHF is second to none; if you take lessons here, you are guarenteed to be a safe, kind, brave rider. The instructors are experts in their fields, do not allow any rough handling of the horses, and produce truly great riders (their show team always comes home with piles of ribbons, and several of their riders have been accepted into elite college riding programs!) I've been to seven other barns, and I can honestly say I've never seen such beautiful school horses. They are all in excellent health ,their coats are shiny and well maintained, and the owner keeps all of her animals on a strict schedule of vet, farrier, and dentist visits. HHF's owner is also one of the most thoughtful horse owners I have ever seen in my life. I've seen her produce wonderful show horses out of animals that others would have written off as too big a project. I've seen her stay up through the night in the dead of winter to comfort and take care of a sick horse. I've seen her spend an impressive chunk of money to try to save a sick goat. The schoolies and other resident animals at HHF are more than just working business expenses; they are the staff and owner's pets, members of the family, and are taken care of as such. It is this devotion to the animals and the quality of the instruction that make HHF the place to be.
