Pony rentals, horseback riding and boarding. 3/8/2012

The rented ponies arrived on time at our house, were adorable and well cared for. It was such a good time for all that 3 years later, we bought a horse from them and board it at their stable in Groveland! The staff are excellent, educated and easygoing which makes my whole family feel comfortable-even my husband who is a beginning rider and takes lessons there. I highly recommend this horse farm. more

I am the donkey. 4/27/2011

Yes I am the donkey. I have been here for a few years now, since the death of Chico. (R.I.P Chico) I am currently locked up in the petting zoo, hopefully I am getting out before the summer when everyone gives me treats! This is an amazing barn, with extremely nice people. That is pretty much all I have to say, considering I am a donkey. COME TO THIS BARN....NOW. more

From a riding addict 4/23/2011

I started riding the summer of 2010, ever since my first day I have been determinded to be the best rider I can. I have came so far from trying to figure out diagonals to working on flying lead changes with Kerri! The teachers are awesome, they never give up on you even if you don't understand something, they push you to your greatest ability & for that I am very thankful. I am in 8th grade surrounded by people from school who are getting into ""not so good things"" and all I focus on is the barn. Riding at the barn has taught me great lessons of responsibility and determination as well as bringing me closter to other girls outside of my town who I now consider my best friends. more

The best all around riding experience you could have! 4/22/2011

I have been riding horses since I was two and taking lessons since I was six, but I can honestly say I didn't progress as a rider until I came to HHF in 2003. I'm so proud to be a part of this great place! It has everything you could want as either a student looking for a school or a boarder looking for a home. There are standard sized indoor and outdoors arenas, a challenging cross country course that prepares riders for anything that could be thrown at them at a show, a dressage ring, and a 1/8 mile race track (!). There are also four grass turnout paddocks, one largee dirt turnout, and several smaller one or two horse turnouts; HHF horses are out of their stalls playing for a minimum of five hours a day. Everything is up to date and beautifully maintained. The instruction at HHF is second to none; if you take lessons here, you are guarenteed to be a safe, kind, brave rider. The instructors are experts in their fields, do not allow any rough handling of the horses, and produce truly great riders (their show team always comes home with piles of ribbons, and several of their riders have been accepted into elite college riding programs!) I've been to seven other barns, and I can honestly say I've never seen such beautiful school horses. They are all in excellent health ,their coats are shiny and well maintained, and the owner keeps all of her animals on a strict schedule of vet, farrier, and dentist visits. HHF's owner is also one of the most thoughtful horse owners I have ever seen in my life. I've seen her produce wonderful show horses out of animals that others would have written off as too big a project. I've seen her stay up through the night in the dead of winter to comfort and take care of a sick horse. I've seen her spend an impressive chunk of money to try to save a sick goat. The schoolies and other resident animals at HHF are more than just working business expenses; they are the staff and owner's pets, members of the family, and are taken care of as such. It is this devotion to the animals and the quality of the instruction that make HHF the place to be. more

One of a Kind Farm 4/22/2011

I have been riding here for about 12 years now. I started when I was about 4 or 5 and I have loved this barn ever since. When I first started riding I tried other barns, but they told me I was too young or I was too small, but at Hunter's Haven Farm I was taken in with open arms. Everyone is basically just one big family and everyone enters and leaves the barn with a smile. The instructors are so nice and the horses are the best! There is an AMAZING cross country course, outdoor ring, galloping track, dressage ring and indoor ring. The barn even has a few goats and a great donkey :) The lessons are so much fun I have to say in my opinion this is one of the greatest barns I have ever been to. :) more

HHF got me back in the saddle 4/22/2011

After a 30+ year break from riding, I decided to take it back up again. I had ridden for 18 years when I was young, so I thought - no problem - this must be like riding a bike! Well, was I in for a surprise! I found HHF and brought my new mare, Bella, to the barn. Besides choosing to take up riding again, going to HHF was the best decision I could have made! Bella settled in instantly, due to the care and consideration given her by the highly competent HHF staff. They made sure she adapted to her new surroundings and her new stablemates. So - surprise! I fell off the first week I started riding and broke several bones in my back (I'm mostly better now). It was a fluke accident that would never have happened if I was paying attention. Nevertheless, it DID happen...and I had a rude awakening. I knew I didn't want to give up my dream of riding again, so I did what I should have done in the first place - started taking lessons with the barn's owner, Tricia. She knew how far I had to go, even though I knew how to ride, and took great care with my emotional and physical return to riding. She's the best, and I would recommend her to anyone at any stage of their riding career. She has great patience and can explain everything from the very basics to advanced moves in totally understandable ways. She's the greatest! Tricia and Kerri have worked together to train both me and Bella (in training rides and longe sessions) to become better riding partners. They have given me such confidence to try new things and do a better job at those things I can already do. That's exactly what I need at this stage of my riding career. Two other things I love about HHF - the comaraderie between riders of all ages, and the commitment of both the staff and the riders to the best care and treatment of their horses and of each other. Such a great place! more

Such a great place to ride. 4/21/2011

As someone with 13 years of riding experience I've had my share of good and bad encounters within the equestrian world. Hunters Haven is without a doubt a diamond in the rough. After showing for a good number of years an injury rendered me unable to ride for a long year of physical therapy and horse withdrawals. I had the idea in my head that I would never jump a course again until after a fair amount of convincing I began to search for a new place to ride. I came across HHF while searching online. Besides the attractive and informative website, the thing that drew me to this establishment first was the price. They were the least expensive cost per hour lesson I could find. As it turns out the least expensive was the best value as well. I called and spoke to Tricia, the owner, and got information as well as an invitation to come by and check the place out. Naturally, I came the next possible free moment I had. I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful pastures and barn tucked back down a long dirt driveway. I was greeted with a friendly atmosphere and healthy, happy looking horses. I was convinced. I scheduled my first lesson the very next week, and aside from my recent maternity leave, I'm back in the saddle again jumping all over again. Besides lessons there are many fun and family friendly events to attend at the barn, along with many local shows during the warmer months. The entire staff is friendly, educated and truly care about your experience. I would recommend Hunters Haven Farm in a heartbeat to anyone with a love for horses. more

Best barn! 4/21/2011

I've only been riding at hunters haven farm for about a year and a half now. Since i started riding here, i have learned more english riding, how to perfect it, how to jump, and i've even taken part in some shows. Now that i'm here, i would never trade barns. The instructors are so nice and there's a lesson for everyone, weather you have ridden for 10 years or are beginning. The horses and ponies are extremely friendly and the lessons are a good group size to learn in. You're grouped with people the same riding ability and are never forced t dosomthing you dont want. All of the horses (and other farm animals) are extremely well taken care of and it shows. Dont' waste your time at other farms! Hunter's Haven Farm is the best! more

BEST BARN EVER!!!! 4/20/2011

I have been riding here since I was about 4 or 5 years old. It is the best place for anyone that wants to learn to ride, or wants to continue riding. There are more than 15 school horses at different levels that you can fall in love with. The instructors will teach you the basics, leading up to teaching you everything about horses, horse care, and of course, the RIDING. There are 4 huge paddocks, a galloping track, an indoor and outdoor ring, a pond to ride around, a dressage ring, and a cross country course. The people there are so nice and friendly, and I have the best friends there. more

Hunters Haven Farm 4/20/2011

Hunter's Haven Farm (HHF) is an all around great place to be.The horses are safe but also can be a challenge.I have been riding at HHF for about 6 years and i have no complaints. The instructors for lessons are amazing they give you encouragement when you need it and they push you far and help you become the best rider you can be.Also they offer ways where if you can't afford a lesson you can help work it off by working at the barn or doing pony rides. The people who ride at HHF are really nice and can help any new people who come to HHF and show them around and make them feel comfotrable. I love Hunter's Haven Farm and i would recommend this barn to anyone who loves riding and having fun. more

Hunters Haven Farm!!! 4/20/2011

I have been riding at Hunters Haven Farm for about 10 years now, i started taking lessons when i was 6. It is, in my opinion, the most beautiful place in the world. Everyone is so friendly, including the horses. There are many different horses and lessons for every level rider and the instructors are just amazing. They have indoor and outdoor rings, a galloping track, a pond u can ride around, a cross country field, a dressage ring, and four big pastures for the horses to run around, they have everything!! I have met some of my best friends at Hunters Haven, and many horses I've fallen in love with. They also have a show team! There are many other events during the year, such as jumper shows, easter show, summer shows, derby party, and my favorite, a halloween show and sleepover! Everyone is a family and I hope I get to be at Hunters Haven Farm for the rest of my life, it's my favorite place in the whole world! If your thinking about riding at Hunters Haven, your making the right decision, its the best barn around! I don't think you'll even want to leave! more

Hunters Haven 4/20/2011

I started riding at Hunters Haven when I was 10 years old and still am! The instructors for the lessons are great and theres a differnt lesson for everyone so no matter what your level skill of riding is, there will be a lesson just right for you! Every time you go there everyone is friendly and you always feel welcome. There's also a great amount of land for cross county, an outdoor ring, a dressage ring, and a galloping track. This is the best barn I've ever been too including the people there and everything about it! more

Hunters Haven Farm 4/20/2011

This place is amazing! The instuctors are great and can help anyone learn. There is a horse for everyone with over 15 lesson horses. The facilities are amazing. Four huge beautiful pastures to your right when you first drive in are beatiful to look at during the summer when the grass is tall. My favorite part of the barn is the cross country course! We must have over 20 jumps and we keep adding more! there is also a pond to ride around (not in tho!) its always cooler around there in the summer. Along with the lesson pogram they also have a show team, where they show in local non-rated shows. If you do not have your own horse you can take a school horse! this is by far the best barn! more

Nothing but positive thoughts for Hunters Haven! 4/19/2011

I have been pleasantly associated with Hunters Haven for approximately 4 years now. I think they have a wonderful lesson program which incorporates not only those, children and adults alike, who are new to the sport, but, also to those who have been riding for years and most experienced. The beginners start out with learning the essential basics and, as they become more experienced, the riders are elevated to more levels of difficulty and fine-tuning. All riders are respected with their individual capabilities. The staff is greatly respected and young riding enthusiasts are provided the opportunity to not only learn riding techniques, but, also, proper horse maintenance and barn management. Hunters Haven provides a wonderfully positive atmosphere for all wo incporate it into their lives. more

Perfect place for any horse or rider! 3/8/2009

After riding at this farm for roughly five years, I must say that this is by far the best barn I have ever been to. All of the instructors are very helpful and kind. The facilities are amazing, and include a galloping track, dressage ring, indoor and outdoor rings, and cross country course. The stalls are well tended to, and all of the horses are looken after regardless of whether or not they are the barn's responsibility. All of the people at this barn are very kind and know what they are talking about. This barn is incredibly clean, especially since they have a large number of horse. Don't waste your time and go anywhere else, I guarentee you will fall in love with this barn and the horses! Pros: Everything, especially the cross country course more
