I didn't actually join and have never been a member, so keep that in mind. I went to a meet and greet event where everybody knew everybody and that was very awkward for me. I wanted to join that night, but I thought if this is the meet and greet then what would an activity be like? I didn't want to chance it at that price. It seems like a great bunch but the meet and greet was very overwhelming to me - I thought there would be more orientation and discussion of the variety of events, but instead I felt like a crasher at a family reunion. Not their fault, and they certainly have a bunch of activities. Maybe I'll try the public hike or something, where it isn't just standing around talking (which is DEATH for someone like me, I hate it). If you're on the shy side then I would avoid those meet and greets (unless they're very small -- mine was big) and try the hike. I might do that. Seems like a good organization, just keep in mind that you are going to have to really jump in and for some of us, that's not our nature. Just my two cents.
