Excellent Care, Facilities, and People 3/5/2011

I've had my three horses at Buck Grass Stables since August 2010 and we have been very happy there. The barns, rings, and other facilities are very well maintained. My horses love the grass turn out, and the enclosed barn has been great for the cold weather while it opens up nicely and there are huge fans for summer.\r \r The barn staff are very observant of any issues with the horses. Once when my trainer was off at a show and one of my horses started picking at his food, they quickly noticed it and made sure it wasn't anything serious. When it turned out he had just decided to be picky, Buck tried hand feeding him every feed in the barn to figure out which His Highness was willing to eat, at least until my trainer was back and they could work out a change in the feeding program. Buck and GI (Western trainer and co-barn manager) really know horses and horsemanship, which transcends the type of horse or type of riding. They are also very willing to help, regardless of whether you are their ""client"" or not.\r \r The saddlehorse trainers mentioned by the reviewer below are gone, and have been since sometime before we got there. The trainers there now are Jo Schroeder, who does hunter/jumper and dressage, Andrea Seaman, who does dressage, and of course Buck and GI. Buck has a few saddlehorses that he trains, but they are no problem at all to us dressage and H/J types. It has been educational to watch the different types of horses and types of training, and we all learn from each other. Most importantly, there is a great deal of respect among all the trainers using the facilities. It's just a really nice place for both horses and people to be and to learn. more
