Voluntary verbal assault 3/5/2011

Not at all worth the 'free vacation' they promise. Upon arrival they assign a salesperson to you, who goes over a brief vacation questionnaire. Everything you say or imply will be turned around and manipulated later as they pressure you to purchase ownership in their program. I heard some of the sales staff telling their boss that people were lying to them, appartently in an attempt to browbeat people to say yes. The price started at $25 k for a 25 year membership, but they offer a ""today only!"" special for $17k, then keep making lower offers if you say no; of course your points decrease exponentially so your options dwindle with the price. I was enticed with not only a ""free"" 7-day cruise but also a 3-day stay in one of their resorts. Sounded too good to be true. They said that 5 in 6 attendees sign up for the program - it was amazing to listen to people sign up when they had proudly announced 2 hours ago they were only there for the ""free trip"". I'm sure the champagne had something to do with. Once they realized I wasn't buying they couldn't get me out the door quick enough. I did get a certificate for a trip but it wasn't what I was initially promised and I also got my $20 deposit back - in the form of a rebate card only good for 45 days. It's an interesting experience I guess, if you can handle the verbal assault. more
