My husband and I recieved several phone calls telling us that we won a free trip, and all we had to do was listen to a 90 minute presentation. We showed up 15 minutes prior to the appointment time of 8pm, only to be told we're not on the list. I immediately called back the number which called me twice earlier that day to confirm our appointment. The lady answered the phone ""Vacation Internationale"" and sais we were scheduled that evening at 8pm. I told the guy at the front desk that I had someone on the phone, and he replied ""the people who call you are from a different marketing company, and not directly with VI."" Okay, then how come when the marketing company calls me, and when they answer the phone they claim they're with VI? I handed over my cellphone so the guy could speak with the lady who had been calling me. Finally they agreed to let us do the 8pm, as long as they had a sales person availible after the ""scheduled"" people all showed. So we waited around for 20 minutes, and were told they could see us. The presentation took over 2 hours, not the 90 minutes they tell you to get you in. The ""free trip"" that you win ends up costing $350 in taxes and booking fees for a Las Vegas trip of 2 nights. I have booked for cheaper than that including roundtrip airfare and hotel through Southwest Airlines Vacations. Plus the ""hotel"" they so-called put you up in, isn't even a hotel. It's a ""motel"" which is a couple of miles from the strip. The sales presentation is high pressure, and if you don't buy a $20,000 package they try and sell you a $12,000 package. When you still tell them no, they drop it down to a $6,000 package and tell you that you can come back at anytime if you want to upgrade to a higher priced one in the future. Are you kidding me? And when you turn them down completely, they sit there and insult you to your face. The guy took one look at my husband and said ""If you really loved your wife, you would buy this for her. Who doesn't like to travel?"" Excuse me, is that supposed to be a selling point?
