Being regulars at Morton's of San Diego, CA, my husband and I have dined at Morton's of Nashville twice this month. Each time, we spent well over $275. Our most recent visit was on 3/11/11 at 6:00 p.m. Each time we have visited the Nashville location, the restaurant has been relatively empty at 6:00 p.m. However, we have been seated at the WORST tables in the restaurant. The first time we visited the Nashville Morton's, we were sat at a small two-chair table on the corner of the main walkway. It was very annoying and un-romantic to say the least. Yesterday, we were sat at another two-chair table in an empty dining room. Mind you three other couples were seated in either roomy booths or four-seat tables. Our table was so small, the bread and two cocktails would hardly fit on our table. While the rest of the restaurant was dimly lit, our table was directly under brightly lit canned lights. Again, completely unromantic. Our steaks were decent, and the cocktails, salads, desert, and vegetable sides were as expected, but the ambience was so horrible it over-shadowed the meal. After spending well over $550 dollars in ONE MONTH trying to recreate the experience of our hometown beloved steakhouse, it is with great disappointment that I say we will not be back to Morton's Nashville. Thank goodness for the 1808 Grille and Flemmings!
