First off, the environment in the salon is relaxed, clean and friendly. As far as haircuts go, Joseph is stellar. He eyeballs your hair while you describe what you want, and all the while you see him in the mirror studying it like a math problem, gently pulling at strands here and there, measuring, preparing it like a delicate meal. He's not one of those get-you-in-and-out kinds of hairdressers. Joseph consistently does an awesome job and I know it sounds a cheesy, but I always leave feeling special. Another perk is that he does kids cuts too! My daughter loves him and he does the cutest little girl bob. He also doesn't mind when she climbs all over me when he's cutting my hair. The neighborhood is fun to visit and a trip to Saint Cupcake or Stumptown is usually in order afterward.
