We have been holding off on going to Amico's because it is so incredibly busy every time we go by. Tonight we decided to carry-out.
The person who answered the phone was difficult to understand because of background noise. I had to call back in order to find out how long the wait would be.
We ordered stromboli sandwiches, one Italian and one sausage.
Mr. Man picked them up and said the staff was friendly and the place was busy.
The sandwiches were ho hum. The marinara sauce for dipping had more flavor then both the sandwiches put together. The sandwiches looked good, but lacked seasoning. Some basil and oregano would have been a good place to start. The bread (described as rolled-up pizza dough) was not fully baked and resulted in a doughy product. There was nothing spicy about the Italian meat or sandwich. Really, it turned out to be nothing more than a ham and cheese sandwich, much more than an Italian stromboli.
Next time we will try a pizza. After that, if the experience is not better, we will just leave it alone. Overpriced sandwiches that are bland and blah--- I fear the pizza
will probably be the same.
