In that tongue-in-cheek blog, "Stuff White People Like", one of the best entries is that of getting up at ungodly hours on a Sunday morning, and waiting forever for a really good Sunday breakfast. Wagon's West could've been on their mind when they wrote that, as crowds seem to snake around for blocks as one waits for a table at this no-frills, working class diner.\r \r I go there for lunch, and whilst crowded too, you can easily hop on the lunch counter and be served smoking hot food cooked in front of you.\r \r Even with a Thousand Island (not Russian dressing) Reuben sandwich, this version knocks the socks off of any other restaurant's, being unrepentantly high-caloried. The waitresses seem to be transplants mostly from New York and Jersey, a mixture of rude and ready. Think Soup Nazi, but wearing eyeliner.\r \r Despite the fact that Wagon's West is not the cheapest place of its kind, and service can be spotty, just how many mom-and-pop diners are out there, especially in Pinecrest? Come before Denny's and IHOP stomp them all out. more
