This is the closest to a scam you can be and still operate. Do Not Use this service. I contacted Sony to repair a five year old Sony 40 inch flat screen which did not have a picture but four blinking lights on the standby light. I contacted Sony first and Sony recommend one of three repair services authorized by Sony in the Sacramento area. For $95 this company came out looked at the TV, connected a voltage meter, determined there was power and told me that it needed a new mother board at a cost of about $300 for the part. I was told I would be called back with an exact estimate. Two days later I was called back and told it would cost $2,500 to fix a 5 year old TV that cost $900. new. When I asked what happened to the $300 estimate I was told it needed a complete new panel. The panel has not cracks, no breaks and was never mentioned. The next notification is to Sony to see how in the world they authorized this company.
