Prophylaxis-adult is a fairly priced service based on time, materials and labor expended. Periodic exam w/out charting is not. A timed one-minute thirty-two second exam by an arrogant young associate at a cost of $50. (or $.54/second) is a ripoff. As a patient cannot decline this DCPT, the only recourse is to increase the interval between prophylaxis, making the hygienist's task more difficult.
