Make sure the staff assigns your pet's case to the doctor you requested. 10/14/2011

Our vet recommended that we take our male cat to Hollywood Animal Hospital because our cat had vomited blood and, since the cat's vomiting (sans blood) continued after whatever treatments our local vet could provide, it was thought that he might require an endoscopy. Our local vet had called the clinic to prepare the way, and said that our cat would be seen either by Dr. Sessa or by Dr. Herrington. My husband accompanied our cat on the plane flight, and our cat was admitted to the hospital. However, the next day when I called to speak with Dr. Herrington in person to inquire about our cat's condition, I found that the hospital staff had not notified him that either he or Dr. Sessa was to be in charge of our cat's case and had instead assigned our cat to a doctor about whom we knew nothing. We ourselves do not go to doctors whom we have not researched and who do not have proven track records, and we exercise the same level of discernment when looking for care for our pets.
