unprofessional, unnecessarily painful experiences 1/23/2011

I never ever write reviews about doctors, restaurants or anything else so it took an AWFUL dental experience to get me to bother to review this dental office. I've been to Wachuta's Colorado Blvd. dental office for 5 years now and while I've always thought the place to be subpar (rude front desk lady, terribly annoying '80s and '90s pop music playing in the exam room from ancient static emitting boom boxes, routinely running behind schedule, never seeing the same dentist twice, never sure that treatment plan suggested is actually necessary, etc, etc, etc) pure laziness has kept me from finding a new dentist. HOWEVER, recently I went in for what I expected to be a routine filling and the dentist who did the deed injected me with the painkiller and then disappeared for 50 minutes (I timed this since I was paying a babysitter and annoyed with the wait). When she returned the painkiller had practically worn off and I could feel nearly everything being done to me. Now the filled tooth hurts and is sensitive to cold. I have a very, very high pain threshold and I found this routine filling to be more painful than childbirth! STAY AWAY FROM DR. WACHUTA'S OFFICE!!! (by the way, in 5 years I've actually never seen the illusive Dr. Wachuta. Rumor has it that he does actually grace his own office occasionally, but I've never seen him there. Maybe he does a good job treating patients, but I've seen 4 of his underlings in nearly as many years and they have all been either average, subpar, or (as in this latest case) TERRIBLE. more
