I recently took a revolver and a scope base for some drill and tap gunsmithing work. Approximately two weeks later when I went to pick up my gun the price was almost $40 over what I was quoted when I dropped it off. The man behind the counter said that the extra charge was because the gunsmith had to "machine the base" because it was not flush with the gun. This was a custom fitting base and I fitted it prior to taking it to Carters so I knew there was something wrong here. I asked a nice young lady for a wrench and removed the base and showed this man that no extra machine work or any type of work was done at all. He became loud and upset and charged me the original quote after all. I don't think he expected me to take the gun apart there at the counter. I will not be returning to Carters Country nor will I recommend it. Be careful!
