DO NOT CALL FOR EMERGENCY WORK 1/21/2011

One star is way to much\r \r IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD YOU CALL THIS COMPANY.\r \r They will give you a by the job upfront bill and that is what you will pay. But if you have time to get other estimates you will find that their prices are 3 to 4 times what the job is worth. $1100 for a 2 hour job which required replacing two 10 ft sections of water pipe and connecting to a faucet. Thats cutting out two pieces of pipe, $10 worth of materials and 6 connections that take under 10 minutes each. When that did not fix the problem completely $1400 more for another 4 hours of work which required replacing two more pieces of pipe, each 20 ft long. That's removing two pieces of pipe, $20 worth of material and four more connections. Thats over $400 per hour or $55/ft of pipe. Other companies charge at most $150 per hour, and even that is high in my opinion.\r \r I could not wait another day to get someone else. In some states it is illegal to overcharge someone who has an emergency, i.e. you cannot charge $40/gal for water. Also,\r if the person does not understand what the job involves, and they agree to an inflated price, that is contract fraud.\r \r Am reporting them to BBB and Attorney General's Office for Price Gauging, colusion and price fixing, because further research suggests that they have conspired with several other large firms to set ridiculously high prices so they don't have to settle for $150/hr. The technician even bragged about charging someone $15,000 the week before. And unlike any other plumbing company I have used in the last 40 years they have a financing department, to make sure you pay the agreed upon price no matter how ridiculous it is.\r more
