AKM movers, Alexsay, moved us within our complex from one unit to another. We signed a contract, loaded the truck up. When the truck got to our new unit, they decided to charge us an extra $300 for what they called ""long haul"" because our first unit was more than 50 feet from their truck. This was not disclosed earlier NOR was it on the contract that we signed. They refused to take our stuff off the truck until we paid them the extra money. After some arguing, they brought it down to $200. I called Alexsay to file a complaint, who treated me so badly insisting that he was filing paperwork straight away so that collections would be calling me in the morning. I asked to speak to his boss because he was just a ""salesperson"" and he refused to give me his name but said they would call me back within the hour. He was extremely rude despite the fact that this was not in their contract. He said to me ""this is what I guess we call hidden fees. it's standard in the moving industry.""
