Horrible experience!! They are super nice on the phone - when it is time for booking the job...once you book....its a whole different story. 1. They reached over an hour late for my move! 2. They tried to charge extra for things that they agreed to include in my moving expenses. 3. They slapped on an additional $250 of ""Packing Expenses"" on top of what they quoted me for the move!! more

This was our third move and by far the best. The entire process was smooth and issue free from start to finish. Both the management and staff were very responsive and accessible through the entire moving process. The cost of our move was competitively priced and there were no hidden fees. The movers accommodated our schedule and were on time at every phase. We had several pieces of heirloom furniture that they took excellent care in wrapping and protecting, and it was the first time where we had no damage to our possessions. The movers were courteous and professional and went about their work in a quiet expeditious manner. They were careful to keep both premises neat and dry which required minimal clean up. If we move again we will definitely use AKM MOVERS. We highly recommend their services. more

The delivery was 6 days after the pickup as promised and took only 5 hours including the unpacking that we requested. There should be NO stars for this review. Aleksey (Alex) is at the office. Here's the scam and yes the Police had to be called to the move destination after they drove off with the loaded truck. They send a low ball quote in an email, looks legit, says all packing is included, padding, etc. They arrive and are friendly enough. Load the truck up slowly. I had to help them to pick up the pace. They drive to the destination where my girlfriend is there waiting. ( I am not there, still at the location moved from) They demand $300 additional for a total of $700 for a small 1 bedroom move. When my girlfriend turns around, they leave with the loaded truck and say that if she doesn't agree, they will put the items in storage. By the way, I found out they have a storage business on the side where they want to place your items and charge you further. My girlfriend calls me in tears. I tell her to call the police. The officer even tells me that Aleksey is rude TO HIM. The movers want to LEAVE THE FURNITURE AT THE STREET/CURB and still get paid!!! Finally ANOTHER officer comes and directs them to move the items inside after reviewing the contract. If you have more than 1 brain cell, you will avoid these movers at all costs. Our mistake was being so busy and not checking them online before selecting them. You'll see a similar incident in a review of them also. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM more

AKM movers, Alexsay, moved us within our complex from one unit to another. We signed a contract, loaded the truck up. When the truck got to our new unit, they decided to charge us an extra $300 for what they called ""long haul"" because our first unit was more than 50 feet from their truck. This was not disclosed earlier NOR was it on the contract that we signed. They refused to take our stuff off the truck until we paid them the extra money. After some arguing, they brought it down to $200. I called Alexsay to file a complaint, who treated me so badly insisting that he was filing paperwork straight away so that collections would be calling me in the morning. I asked to speak to his boss because he was just a ""salesperson"" and he refused to give me his name but said they would call me back within the hour. He was extremely rude despite the fact that this was not in their contract. He said to me ""this is what I guess we call hidden fees. it's standard in the moving industry."" more

This is my 16th move over the past 30 years, and clearly one of the best. The driver (Robert) and his crew were OUTSTANDING! Exceeded my expectations. On time, neat, courteous, polite, helpful...not a bad thing to say about them. I will not hesitate to use them again. AKM MOVERSe were good at communicating . No hidden charges. No surprises. And they went out of their way to meet my schedule. more

We checked references, connected with them numerous times, yet on moving day 3 guys--no truck-- to move a 4 room apartment. The movers were hired off the street. They had a tiny panel truck that fit no furniture. Worst of all, after several calls, Aleksy, they guy we had spoken to refused to pick up his phone--either for us or for the men they sent. We never heard from him again. SKIP THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!! more
