Until now, I've never ever written a business review. However, given my recent experience with AE German Car Service, I am compelled to tell other German vehicle owners about the exceptional quality of service and repair they can expect while patronizing this incredible business.
Finding a good auto shop is hard. Finding a good shop that specializes in German cars and doesn't overcharge for parts and labor is even harder. Over the years I've taken my vintage Audi to numerous ""German car experts"" with varied results. After my first service at AE German Car Service, I've stopped looking for auto shops.
The mechanics here are honest, friendly, and knowledgeable. They give you a straight answer, tell you what you need to fix, what you probably should fix, and what can wait indefinitely to fix. They obviously care about building a relationship and provide excellent service. They're also very funny, warm, and jovial! I now look forward to my car's service for the jokes and friendly banter alone.
They are a full service Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, and Volkswagen trained shop and know what they're doing. My Audi 5000 Turbo's instrument cluster was vibrating horribly and the vehicle was handling poorly (a car my late father purchased new in 1983). I had no idea what was wrong and expected the worst. On a whim, I was driving down Santa Monica Blvd when I decided to pull into AE German Car Service. As soon as I explained the symptoms, they immediately put my baby on the lift and diagnosed the problem: a worn wheel bearing and some bad motor mounts. I expected to pay through the nose, but the owner assured me he could fix my dad's car for a very fair price. Fair for who?! Certainly not him, as he gave me a quote that was probably less than half of what the thieves at the dealership would have charged. They went to work on my car right away, and it was ready for pick up the very next morning. They even gave me a lift home!
Jerry, the owner is a great guy. He is very honest and sincere, and was very complimentary of my vintage Audi. He is clearly a German auto enthusiast as well as an expert. He is definitely all about customer satisfaction and return business, which is rare to find with car shops. He charged me for only one motor mount, despite having replaced both of them. He gave me a break on the labor as well. He is a real sweetheart of a man, and an absolute guru when it comes to temperamental old German cars. I will now only go to AE German Car Service for my period Audi's service and repair.
If you've got an old German tank like mine, and it's in need of service or repair, look no further than AE German Car Service. This shop is top notch. Thank you so much Jerry and staff. Dad would be proud. Can't wait to hit the PCH this weekend... My 1983 Audi 5000 Turbo is born again!!!
