I used to think Providence 57 was an upscale place. As someone living uptown, I really appreciated having a real dance club a short cab ride from the UES. I now have come to feel disappointed and even angered by the attitude coming from the staff. The guy who takes your $20 at the door doesn't even look at you, say thank you or respond if you say ""hello."" The drag-queen who stamps your arm is surprisingly rude. If fact, this past week, ""she"" carelessly stamped my palm without even looking at me or where ""she"" was stamping. I said, ""Please stamp my wrist, I expect to go in and out of the club."" ""She"" proceeded to stamp up my forearm multiple times and make a hand gesture for me to ""run-off now, I'm done with you."" Combine these two characters with bartenders that serve you when they want to acknowledge you, makes going there a disappointment. It saddens me really that the owners don't seem to value a good customer and allows employees to act the way they do. If you're going to run an upscale club, or any club for that matter, employees need to be trained to interact with respect.
