Since I'm from San Francisco (but married to a Portlander, so don't flame me about it!), I am used to waiting in line for any food worth eating. I have eaten at Pine State now twice, both times at peak hours and never waited longer than 10 minutes in line. It is well worth the wait. I don't know who Reggie is, but I LOVE him! His biscuits are light and fluffy. The gravy is just right and just enough. The chicken is terrific (crisp and not greasy). The sweet tea is just as it should be and the fried green tomatoes are wonderful. It's a bit more food than I can eat, but not so much that I feel bad about wasting. Everyone who works there was very polite and friendly to me. And despite the crowd, both times I did get a seat at a nice little table. What else could a person want? It's perfect.
Pros: Excellent food, friendly staff, clean, good atmosphere
Cons: Busy, must wait in line
