I ordered the Thai curry, which tasted good, but after eating more than half of the dish I discovered that what I thought was coarse ground pepper was actually tiny dead bugs - probably hundreds in the whole dish - gross!
When I first informed Seed of the bugs, they were a bit defensive and said that people had been ordering that dish all day without complaint. My guess is that they weren't inspecting their food closely, as I didn't notice at first either and thought it was course ground pepper until I saw what looked like (and was) a translucent wing.
I then explained that I just wanted to let them know so they could take a closer look at the ingredients and find the source in their kitchen. Seed said that there was probably a nest in one of the folded kale leaves and explained that it was quite common. They explained that they wash the kale in crates and probably missed this hatch.
If these bugs often make nests in kale leaves, I am of the opinion that they should wash them more carefully, especially where pesticides aren't used.
Seed said I could come in for a complimentary meal, but I've lost my appetite.
Pros: flavorful, large portions
Cons: numerous tiny dead bugs
