YUM YUM and YUM!!! 10/20/2010

I've been there 2 times and I LOVE this place! I tried the ""bowl"" dishes and I wasn't thrilled, but the ""burgers"" and sweet potatoe fries, YUMMMMMM!!!!! It's a little exspensive but the ""burger"" is huge and the large size fries are plenty for 2 people to share. :)\r \r I can't remember if I saw any kind of burrito item but I'll check next time....if not, and they read this comment, I hope you guys do in the near future! :D more

Examine your dish carefully if you have anything with kale 6/15/2010

I ordered the Thai curry, which tasted good, but after eating more than half of the dish I discovered that what I thought was coarse ground pepper was actually tiny dead bugs - probably hundreds in the whole dish - gross! When I first informed Seed of the bugs, they were a bit defensive and said that people had been ordering that dish all day without complaint. My guess is that they weren't inspecting their food closely, as I didn't notice at first either and thought it was course ground pepper until I saw what looked like (and was) a translucent wing. I then explained that I just wanted to let them know so they could take a closer look at the ingredients and find the source in their kitchen. Seed said that there was probably a nest in one of the folded kale leaves and explained that it was quite common. They explained that they wash the kale in crates and probably missed this hatch. If these bugs often make nests in kale leaves, I am of the opinion that they should wash them more carefully, especially where pesticides aren't used. Seed said I could come in for a complimentary meal, but I've lost my appetite. Pros: flavorful, large portions Cons: numerous tiny dead bugs more

One Mediterranean Burger Please... 2/23/2010

I usually have the Mediterranean Burger when I go to Seed. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I used to eat at Seed once a day when I lived a few blocks up the street. I would also recommend the Coconut Curry and the Southwest Burger. If you are looking for delicious Macro/ Vegan food then you have to check out Seed... Pros: Best Veggie Burgers in LA Cons: No more cupcakes... more

Easy to Park and Easy to Be Healthy 11/29/2008

I love the space, colors and warmth! I had a faux pepper steak that was really good and also a veggie burger. I like to think that I am an expert on veggie burgers and this one will make me go back for another. The sweet potato fries were a fun addition to my last lunch. The great thing is that you can get this healthy and delicious food to go. I am not Vegan but like to eat well and I highly recommend this restaurant. It's worth making a special trip to Venice. Oh, and with the new non-metered pay station right in front I found it incredibly easy to park. We are trying to feed our son only organic foods and this is the perfect place to go for take out when you just can't imagine cooking another meal. Pros: Great Selection! Cons: Seating is limited. more

Best Vegan/Macrobiotic cuisine in Los Angeles! And I mean it! 11/14/2008

I haven't been to a better vegan/macrobiotic restaurant. The food here is excellent and I highly recommend it to anyone, vegan/macrobiotic or not. The menu is very diverse, as is the crowd and area. The ambiance is great - very relaxing and creates a pleasant atmosphere to dine. They also do take-out, and the food is prepared quickly by Eric (master chef) and his staff. The staff is very friendly too. I have to say that their drinks are great too! The Soysage Panini was perfectly prepared, and was the tastiest one I can remember having that was so healthy at the same time. The ingredients of the Panini were varied, and everything blended together so well! I have experience with this diet and have been eating macrobiotic and vegan style (not strictly) for over 1/2 year, and I was very impressed with this food. Don't forget to try the desserts! The Madonna Chocolate mousse is very, very good. If you're looking for a new, healthy and hip place to dine, Seed is the place! Pros: Food, Ambience, Staff, Price Cons: I have none! more
