I was truly surprised at the meal that I had at Reggiano; My husband ordered ""linguine and vongole with white sauce"". When the dish came it was soupy with little necks. Vongole are small and its ""meat"" is sweet. The American substitute is usually manila clams. The clams used, little necks, were chewy and rubbery. They certainly were not of the highest quality and the entire meal was not Reggiano's best. . Ordinarily we would have left the restaurant and not complained, but my husband remarked about the dish, the server said :well you ate half of it"". My husband said that was not the answer that should have been given. When we have a poor meal we do not eat it but we were hungry and looking forward to this dinner. We kept trying to find merit with each bite that we took. My husband asked that the chef be told about our complaints. Obviously the chef cannot take criticism. He was trying to pawn off low quality seafood by insulting a customer. He refused to come out to speak with us. By the way my meal, lamb was not medium rare it was medium and tasted as if it was warmed in a microwave. It had no flavor. My dish was expensive and I expected more care in its preparation. The risotto was clumpy and had no flavor. This meal was such a disappointment. again I did not complain because I was hungry. This should be a wake up call. for Reggiano. I hope that when you advertise a dish use the correct food terms such as little neck clams not vongole (by the way vongole is a variety of mussel not a clam).
