I went in for a simple lightening. The stylist bleached my hair, and it turned orange. Literally-- like when skaters used to pour laundry bleach over their heads to look punkish. This was despite my initial insistence that it look "natural." It was bad enough to cause me professional shame.\r

When I insisted it get fixed, the owner-- who was my stylist's mom-- came out and refused to acknowledge there was any problem at all. When I pointed out the obvious-- that my hair was bleachy orange-- said owner got really nasty with me.\r

I'm from a big city, and she accused me of trying to screw her over, repeating that "you know it would be more expensive there." (Incidentally-- that's not true. I paid $85 total for the coloring and an additional $20 for a haircut there-- which was decent-- earlier that week.)\r

I believe you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar, but I had to hold a tough line to get them to fix it promptly and without charging me more. Throughout, the owner was
