I had to call the police to get my ring back. 5/3/2010

I had taken a piece of jewelry in to get fixed. When I went to retrieve my ring, I was asked for my ticket. I looked in my wallet, and had misplaced the ticket, but got out my driver's license and credit card, both with the name (which is a very unusual name) that they have with their handwriting on the envelope of my jewelry. The woman who accepted the piece was the woman who was waiting on me, and she recognizeed me. BUT... the owner stepped up to the counter, and said that wasn't good enough. I had to have the ticket. So, I went home, found the ticket, returned, put the ticket down on the counter, and said, ""Here is the ticket, let me have my piece now."" Yes, I was pissed. There was no reason that with identification I should not have been able to pick up my item. The clerk went to retrieve the piece, but the owner came up and said, ""I'm sorry, we don't have it."" I said ""WHAT do you mean you don't have it."" He said ""We don't have it. Perhaps we will have it tomorrow, you can come back."" I said ""You had it 30 minutes ago, when you sent me home to get my ticket!"" He shrugged and went to the back of his store. Now I was livid, had to call the Glenview Police department to come to the store, where they ordered the owner to hand over the piece. The owner even asked the policeman to hand it to me, because he now would not even look me in the eye. The policeman told him to knock off his shenanigans, and give me my ring.
