My precious dog Angie had surgery for a mast cell tumor on 4/23/10. The surgeon was still doing surgery when we picked Angie up that afternoon; staff assured me she would call me as soon as she was finished in surgery to answer my simple questions as to whether the tumor was completely removed and when it had 'dirty margins' which indicate increased risk of metastasis. However, despite repeated messages the doctor never returned my calls. The biopsy will not be available for approximately one week; Angie sees the doctor tomorrow for bandage removal so hopefully the doctor will see fit to answer my questions at that time. I find VCA staff's behavior extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional in this matter. If you want to save some grief, unfounded worry and total lack of consideration from staff, use another provider for your pets when they have a life threatening condition!!!!!
