I wanted to try this place for a while so we went for dinner on my birthday. First of all, I did not realize there was more than one entrance and walking into a bar wasn?t what I expected. They told us to go down the hall to the dining room. They seated us quickly and gave menus. Our server was ?Mary Beth? (though I don?t believe that is her name).
They gave us a basket of chips and salsa. We ordered drinks and guacamole (both were very tasty) which came quickly but it took about 20 minutes for the black bean soup to come out. I wanted the Burrito Martita but they were out of artichokes and spinach so instead I got the Combination fajita and my fianc? ordered Camarones al Chipotle (shrimp saut?ed in chipotle sauce). The shrimp was cold and undercooked and the sauce tasted like mayonnaise. He told the server the food was uneatable. Her answer was and I quote ?and?.? When he asked for something else she reluctantly agreed but said we would be charged for the more expensive meal. (Shrimp was $18 the fajita he got was $14.25). This was not a big deal; I understand that small restaurants have to survive. When the check came we were charged $9 for guacamole I thought was $4. When I showed it to her on the menu she said she charged me for the dip. I mentioned there are two prices and that she did not ask me which one I wanted. I realized that I was fighting a losing battle and paid the $60 overpriced check and went home knowing they would never get my money again. She was indifferent and was glad when we left.
Pros: Great Margarita and Guacamole
Cons: pricey, bad service, mediocre food
