I was skeptical to get my hair colored at Aveda because it is all students. I have gotten my hair cut there numerous times, but usually do my hair color myself. I needed to go lighter (after going super dark for winter) so I definitely did not want to do it myself. I did not want to pay $150 or so at a fancy salon so I decided to try it out. Emmy was great (too bad she was graduating the next day) and gave me several ideas. She also grabbed her instructor who had the same idea. It took about 3.5 hours from start to finish, but I am super happy with the results. I want more blond so I am going back in a few weeks! I would highly recommend getting a more advanced student -- I am guessing it would take longer if the student was brand new.
