Trinity Boxing has become my second home. I started 3 months ago and I can say it has seriously changed my life. Martin, the owner/trainer, makes boxing fun! His positive attitude, knowledge, kindness and diligence makes you feel like you are getting ready for a fight and he is cheering you on from the corner. The workouts are intense and it has dramatically changed my physical as well as mental being. I am an actor, and boxing parallels acting in that you always have to be present, ready to react, you can’t be lost in your head trying to think your way out of the situation. It’s raw and in the now. In acting, you have to breathe, you have to relax, and have equipoise. You have to listen. Boxing is the same. You can’t be tense or you won’t be able to react (listen). You have to be loose (breathe) or the punches won’t snap. It’s about precision and speed and power. It’s the body and mind melding and it’s a great exercise for acting.\r
Trinity is always a blast! I never liked going to the gym because it’s not fun. Trinity is always fun. Whether I’m joking with the other trainers, Matt and Eddie, or talking to some of the other members like Riva or Steve, everybody has a great attitude. \r
I was really nervous at first joining a boxing gym because I thought “I’m gonna get my ass kicked, they are all going to laugh at me.” But that wasn’t the case at all. You don’t spar unless you want to. Even then they don’t hit you full out. It’s just about getting a great workout and working on your technique. \r
I suggest everybody go in for a trial session. That’s what I did and I was hooked. It’s also a great way to let out tension. I know my agent has taken a few punches in the face in that gym ;). Hope this review helps. Look for me when you come in…I’ll be there. \r
Pros: Great Workout, Cool People!
