This little hip blues and barbeque joint is located down the street from Emory campus. I was just visiting Atlanta and the Decatur area because I had friends and family who lived here. When I asked my friend to take me to the best barbeque in her area, she drove me straight to Maddy's without a second thought. I would recommend trying the ribs or the rib sandwich. The stew is also delicious as well as the phenomenal fire baked beans. Thankfully, sweat tea is on tap. It is definitely a southern barbeque joint. Their use of a rub instead of drowning the ribs in barbeque sauce was a welcomed change from other barbeque joints that I have been to. This place gets a thumbs up from this Texan. Also, the live performances that are a part of this establishment's charm.
