I have read the previous reviews and am confused. I really wonder if they have even taken the time to actually go to Down Under or if there is a personal issue..... I go to all the stores in the raleigh area and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Fish Room lacks personal attention to customers who are new but carry a great conversation on advanced equipment. Fish world has a lot of fish to choose from but the customer service is not there. Reef Keepers has a nice selection of high end corals but you have to dip everythings for bugs - if your new to the hobby dont go there for help. I personally prefer to shop at down under because it dont matter who you are, they will take the time to talk with you even when they know there is not a sale involved. They do have a couple new people working there that are in the process of learning but they dont hesitate to verify the information they are sharing if they are not sure. New hobbiest have to start somewhere I say, I think its great that they decided to start at a store and that Down under took the risk in bringing them in to train them. Now I will be honest, I do ask for Cindy or Todd when I go in but that is because I am usually in a hurry. I will vouch for the qualty of water at Down Under as be good. I have tested their TDS and it came out at 0, no chlorines either.... so I am confused as to how the other posts are stating the opposite. As one review stated, wouldnt everything be dead in their systems if it were bad?!?!?!? my advice - check the place out yourself and see what the real deal is.
Pros: good selection of stock, personable staff
Cons: not open mondays
