BE FOREWARNED - DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST. I had good expectations that they were a reliable dentist's office - however they've proven again and again they are not. This is why...
The beginning of my long overdue apt was nice. Great view of Millenium Park from the office...the hygienist started the cleaning after taking X-rays. She was working and I advised her before she started, that one tooth was very fragile and would break easily with any major pressure. I even told the dentist this was something I wanted him to look at to be fixed on my next appointment. She confirmed she understood the situation and continued the cleaning.
Once she finished, I looked in the mirror and saw that the EXACT tooth I warned her about CRACKED and a piece CHIPPED off! Here's where the continued issues began...
Not only did she NOT APOLOGIZE, but she took absolutely NO ACCOUNTABILITY for the damage she did. When the Dr. came in to see her work, I told him about how frustrated I was that I clearly warned her to be cautious in the problem area, and that if she thought her work could do damage, not to work in that area and leave it alone (which SHE COMPLETELY DISREGARDED after saying she understood).
HE IMMEDIATELY BECAME DEFENSIVE stating that there was no way her work could have done this - which I know for a fact is a lie as I am not blind and saw the tooth now cracked and chipped. When i asked him what could be done to fix it, and how much it would cost, he BRUSHED ME OFF saying he doesn't know prices and to speak with Peggy, the office manager. I told him since I knew this was fragile, and that I'd be having him fix it the next time anyways, that I didn't even expect them to cover ALL costs, but certainly they should help cover SOME of them since it was CLEARLY BROKEN BY THEIR WORK.
Once the Dr. finished going over my X-Rays with me, I went to speak with Peggy. She said that she didn't know how much it would cost, and that she'd need to file a claim to see how much Blue Cross would cover. I then asked her based on what Blue Cross would cover, and what expenses I'd have, what percentage of that the office would be covering due to their hygienist who broke the tooth. She again said there was no way the hygienist broke it but that she needed to wait to hear back from Blue Cross and that she'd follow up with me.
Understand this apt was in September, it is now November and I still do not have an answer. When I followed up, I left 2 voicemails, sent 3 emails, and still have not heard back.
I do not typically write reviews on Yelp, but I felt it important to WARN POTENTIAL CLIENTS of the complete and utter disregard this dentist, hygienist, and office manager Peggy have for their new customers. I would have gladly continued coming here, if they actually stepped up to correct the issue, but I am still left with no follow up, no responses, and no course of action other than to warn others. I am very understanding to the fact that problems can happen, but it's the way in which someone helps to correct the problem that counts - this office failed miserably and did not even accept any fault, let alone try to correct the issue.
AGAIN - DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST IF YOU EXPECT ANY LEVEL OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
(interesting side note, the dentist even said this was his BEST hygienist! I'd hate to see what the rest of them are like...)
