Moody, unstable vet 11/2/2010

PLEASE do not take your cat there if you want her to be OK. I did, and 5 months of around the clock care and $4000 went down the drain BUT most importantly, my cat became as sick as when she first crashed. I am angry, frustrated, feeling guilty for trusting this vet while my cat is still suffering...\r \r I could write A LOT of things that are wrong with that vet, Deanne Durham, but I will just say this: She prescribed meds WITHOUT explaining the potential side effects, totally dangerous for my cat's underlying condition. When sadly she did suffer from those side effects, I took her in as emergency, vet threw a tantrum, was quite unstable, agitated, threw her arms in the air and gesticulated and lectured me for over 10 minutes!\r When I said that had I known about those side effects I might have not given the meds, but I do not take meds so I don't know, her response was "" I don't take meds either so I don't know!!!"" I could only mustered “Yes, ... but you are ... a vet!""\r \r She also did not explain HOW to administer that med., how time sensitive it was (found out from the tech) and after all that, she did NOT even look at my cat or ask how she was... I was there because my cat was really sick!. At the front desk, surprise! They charged me for exam/consultation, when she did not even look or touch my cat!\r \r I truly feel she caused my cat to relapse since 4 days before taking that med. she was doing extremely well, as proven by blood work and behavior. Now, we are still trying to get her better... although as vet said ""Maybe she is supposed to be lethargic and sleep all day, maybe she was alert b/c she was hypertensive""... I wonder what cats might think of that philosophy?\r more
