As a Director of Events for a large hotel in the area, I would say I can sometimes be a little pickier then others but this was by far the worst I have ever experienced. We made reservations for Thanksgving Dinner. Upon arrival were greeted by the hostess, our table was not ready yet so we sat and waited as she seated other guests, our turn came about and she pointed across the room and said go over there through those doors and your table is in there. Here I am with my 6 year old and 80 your old grandmother, lugging around O2 tank and cane. I asked her to show since there were 3 doors and I did not want to drag my grandmother through the restaurant, she said should could'nt and kept pointing. At this point I saw 3 gentlemen sitting at the bar, noticed one shirt said Matthews 1600 asked if I could see the Manager, guess what he was the Manager just sitting at the bar doing nothing. Told him they were not off to a good start, he then apologized and said ""the food and your server will more then make up for this little incident"". Huh! The server whose only job was to get drinks came 15 minutes later (automatically recieved a $22 tip for bringing 3 cups of tea and a milk), that was all she did besided drop a check. Went to the buffet thinking it must be better, perhaps if the Manager was watching the buffet he would have noticed the sterno's were out, the food was cold, the cheese display was non existent, shrimp over cooked, pasta over cooked and the Prime Rib very fatty. About the only good thing was the pumpkin pie which was served on plastic plates with plastic forks! Server dropped us the check and over charges us, I pointed out she charged for 4 adults when clearly my child was only 6, ""oops"" I am used to hitting the adult meal button (wonder how many guest were overcharged that night). To top it off the buffet price of $28.95 per person did not include the beverages they were $2.50 on top, so for $150.00 when all was said and done, my family left hungry and had to go home and heat up something. NEVER AGAIN!
