After researching the cause of my intermittent instrument panel problem, I decided to outsource the repair rather than removing the Jeep instrument cluster, cleaning the terminals, and replacing the harness connector myself. A quick web search, and a few phone calls, yielded a short list of repair shops familiar with the problem. Hassan’s estimate was less than 50% of the dealership quote, so I saw this as an opportunity to save $135 and possibly establish a relationship for future repairs. I made an appointment for 8:00 AM to suit my convenience. Although I was prepared to wait, one of the Hassan brothers drove me to the Quincy MBTA station, allowing me to use the time productively. Two hours later, I received a call on my cell phone saying that my vehicle was ready. I returned by bus, and was pleased to discover that my net cost of repair was less than the quoted price. So, on the basis of my “trial” experience, I will certainly return.
