After reading so many rave reviews my wife and I ventured a trip with my parents who were in town visiting. Overall - service was decent though they stopped explaining what we were being served after the first course of the Nozawa version of the "Trust" concept. Speaking of the "Trust" concept - it seems to be a commercialized version of the original intent of the 'omakase' tradition of putting yourself in the chef's hands. Instead of a custom designed menu from a sushi master built to order it has been reduced to a set menu with little change from day to day or even week to week. While I did enjoy the unique combination of ponzu sauce with sushi that stylized many of our nori - over time it got a little old and did not effectively mask the sub-standard quality of the fish served. Additionally, my parents and wife noticed a fishy smell upon entering the restaurant. Overall, I would rather go to nearby Sakura on Centinela which provides much higher quality product and larger selection though is slightly more expensive. However, if you are not big on raw fish and prefer sushi styles that are more about the sauce and the rice than what's served on top of it then sugarFISH is probably a better choice. Pros: Ponzu sauce + sushi = unique! Cons: Sub-standard quality food with average service more
