I found a medium sized dog at a gas station on my way out of town in September 2006. I picked her up and soon realized she was extremely timid, but my family became very attached to her as soon as she came home with me. I had her for just over a year when suddenly (within 2 days) she became very ill. I took her to My Family Vet and Dr. Scott immediately told me that there was something very wrong with her and that we needed to run bloodwork. Turns out she was in complete kidney failure and had many other vague symptoms. Dr. Scott and Dr. Ashmore teamed up and figured out very quickly that my dog had Addison’s disease (a condition with her adrenal glands). They treated me and my dog with such compassion and care. They even stayed at the clinic until 8:00pm one night running a 2 hour blood test to confirm the diagnosis. They saved her life during that critical issue, tended to all of her changing needs and still continue to see her monthly to administer her necessary medications. Although she is still a very shy, timid dog, the vets at My Family Vet treat her like their own pet. She is a great dog and I’m so appreciative that they saved her and that she’s still a huge part of our family. I love this clinic, the whole staff and will always trust them to take care of all my furry kids.
Pros: Caring, attentive, & wonderful staff
Cons: Busy, but it's because they are great vets!
