Tonight we felt like traying a new restaurant in the Gables were we have enjoy excellent restaurant in the past. Talavera was a new place and decided to try it.\r
\r
Appetizer: Guacamole was disapointing, a bit under seasoned and with pork skin bits that come from the bags you buy at the grocery store.\r
\r
Drinks: Great Margaritas \r
\r
Main Dish: The carne asada dish over priced and not well presented. Eventhough it was tastefull the poor presentation did not helped to justify the price. The mole coloradillo ( I think that;s the name) was a good dish. A braised short rib with a mild spice sauce with the house rice. Well balanced, and a nice hidden sweet touch.\r
\r
Dessert: The churros are a good choice, however its size is quite overwhelming. Two Churro strips on dulce de leche with vanilla ice cream, walnuts and a FULL BANANA. I would say the walnuts were not necesary, and the "Crambulised" banana was too much. Just the churros with the dulce de leche and ice cream would have done it perfect.\r

Overall, the place was decent, however dinner dishes are overpriced and plastic cutlery in the salsas and some condiments didn't match with the decoration. At first we thought it was going to be a geat dinner, it end up being not a memorable one.
