DO NOT SIGN-UP FOR THIS GYM, THEY ARE SCAMMERS.
I used to be a member here for 2 years. In March of 2007, I planned to move to Guatemala for a year and I cancelled my membership by going to the location in person and paying a $50 cancellation fee. I moved, came back 9 months later. Several months passed since I was back again and after a total of 19 months after canceling my membership I received a notice from a collection agency saying that I owed $700 to them due to not paying my monthly fees to Fitness 2000. (?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) How could they report me to a debt collector when I came in almost 2 years ago to CANCEL and if they never notified me in the first place that I even owed any fees? All my mail was sent to my parents house while I was out of the country, and they didn't receive ANY notifications from Fitness 2000 regarding an outstanding balance.
Long story short, after CANCELING my membership (and paying a cancellation fee!) they STILL continued to bill me for 19 months and did not attempt to contact me. I came in to speak to them about this matter, although they refused to help me and stated they could not do anything because it was in the hands of the debt collector. I know and have met other who have experienced this same ordeal.
If you think you'll be treated better at a gym that isn't a chain or a corporation then think again because the STAFF CANNOT BE TRUSTED and are out to steal your money.
