I am a frequent cab rider and I have been boycotting Broadway Cab for about 6 months now. Saturday night, however, I needed to quickly get from the Pearl District to Pioneer Square to catch the last MAX out of town. I flagged down the first cab to pass me, which was a Broadway Cab. I told him that I was going to Pioneer Square to catch the Max and so he started drive South. I expected him to turn left on left on Yamhill but he passed Yamhill and didnt turn until Salmon. I thought, well maybe he saw a stalled car or some other traffic that i didnt see which was trying to avoid - so i didnt think twice about it. Next, instead of staying in the left turn lane, to turn on 6th, he moved into the right lane wich would have, again, passed our turn. I yelled ""Where are you going? Pioneer Square is That Way! Don't you know where Pioneer Square is!?"" He slowed down and corrected his lane and turned North onto 6th and said ""no."" This is a typical experience for me in Broadway Cabs. This is why unless i have no other choice, I refuse to ride in Broadway Cabs. Once we got to Pioneer Squre, i asked him for his name and his Identification Number. He proceded to become defensive and ask me why. I told him he shouldnt be driving a cab in downtown Portland if he doesnt know where Pioneer Square is. I truely hate Broadway Cab. If you ride with them enough, you will learn to avoid them too.
Pros: There are many cabs on the street to flag down.
Cons: Drivers do not know the city and speek little english
