Our Jenn Air fridge had frosted over twice within 4-5 months. When the oven started acting up we called Able Applinace as they serviced both brands. They were on time and efficient, however I feel they are overpriced. The same replacement part can be bought online for $67.75 on-line at repairclinic\r
I was charged $249.74 for fifteen minutes work including the part. I understand companies need to keep the business running. I asked the tech how much the service call was and he skirted the question and said it was included in the repair. So that means the price of the part was 4 times what it cost. No wonder a service call is only $9.95. When it came to the oven they had the same cenerio, replace a board for $350.00. With that I will go back to the internet and do it myself. If the charge had been about $60.00 less I would have never written this review, however being an very able bodied home owner I feel the $9.95 service call is a clever marketing to get customers to call. I would prefer a company tell me they charge $150 for the parts with a service charge of $75/ hr as opposed the leading me to believe the part is worth 1/6 the cost of a new fridge.\r
Next time I will spend more time on internet and less time with the repair men.
Pros: They were able to make an appointment the next day.
Cons: I feel the $9.95 service call is misleading
