I am the infamous Zack. As I recall this event, I was managing that evening at COTW. I received a phone call for a gift certificate. Not a problem we have done gift certificates over the phone. Normally gift certificates purchased over the phone were picked up in store. I was asked to send this gift certificate over night. At the point I have only talked to Vanessa. I explain to Vanessa that I had no way of charging for the postage for over night delivery. The best I could do was to send it regular postage with a stamp. Vanessa asked to charge it to the credit card. I explained that I can not walk in the post office with a credit card number on a sheet of paper and expect for the post office to except it. After trying to explain my situation several times I could not make Vanessa understand. I proceeded to charge the gentleman for his gift card and then place it in the mailbox that evening.
Several days later I start to get phone calls asking about what happen. I try to explain to the unreasonable Vanessa that I could not use a credit number on a piece of paper at the post office.
Eventually the gift card came into the restaurant. We gave the gentlemen that had the gift card a sincere apology and gave him another gift card for the same amount. He now had $150 gift card for only $75.
I am still angry over this. I have had been slander because they could not accept no for an answer.
Sir next time you need something done for some ones birthday that requires mailing, plan a few weeks ahead. Oh and please don’t ask and assistant to do it for you have some gumption and do it yourself.
