The food was good and the place was next to a pond. It had all kinds of animals running around. It felt like we were on a farm! Anyway, the fried dill pickes are great and topped it off with the grilled catfish. Free cornbread and cole slaw with the meal. The waiter was great, caught the cornbread(atleast at our table), and wrote a nice thanks note at the bottom! His name was John and we will be asking for him the next time we go back there. more

Great but watch the time u get there 11/11/2009

The crab claws are great, but if its your first time get the catfish (fired or grilled), sweet tea and fried dill pickles. If you can ask for the sever named John. He can filp cornbread real good everytime we go! Pros: food place theme Cons: time to get a table on friday or sat. more

I am the infamous Zack. As I recall this event, I was managing that evening. I received a phone call for a gift certificate. Not a problem we have done gift certificates over the phone. Normally gift certificates purchased over the phone were picked up in store. I was asked to send this gift certificate over night. At the point I have only talked to Vanessa. I explain to Vanessa that I had no way of charging for the postage for over night delivery. The best I could do was to send it regular postage with a stamp. Vanessa asked to charge it to the credit card. I explained that I can not walk in the post office with a credit card number on a sheet of paper and expect for the post office to except it. After trying to explain my situation several times I could not make Vanessa understand. I proceeded to charge the gentleman for his gift card and then place it in the mailbox that evening. \r Several days later I start to get phone calls asking about what happen. I try to explain more

I am the infamous Zack. As I recall this event, I was managing that evening at COTW. I received a phone call for a gift certificate. Not a problem we have done gift certificates over the phone. I explain to Vanessa that I had no way of charging for the postage for over night delivery. The best I could do was to send it regular postage with a stamp. After trying to explain my situation several times I could not make Vanessa understand. I proceeded to charge the gentleman for his gift card and then place it in the mailbox that evening. Several days later I start to get phone calls asking about what happen. I try to explain to the unreasonable Vanessa that I could not use a credit number on a piece of paper at the post office. Eventually the gift card came into the restaurant. We gave the gentlemen that had the gift card a sincere apology and gave him another gift card for the same amount. He now had $150 gift card for only $75. I am still angry over this. I have had been slander because they could not accept no for an answer. Sir next time you need something done for some ones birthday that requires mailing, plan a few weeks ahead. Oh and please don’t ask and assistant to do it for you have some gumption and do it yourself. more

On Monday, July 16th I called the Cock of the Walk Restuarant in Opelika, I spoke to a gentleman name Zack, I told him I wanted to purchase a gift certificate for a friend, he was fine with doing the transaction over the phone, he took my name, address and phone number. I told him the birthday was on Saturday and that I need the GC sent priority mail so I would have time to remail it, I told him he could charge me for it. HE said fine it wasnt a problem, if he had any issues he would call me back. I got back into town on Thursday thinking it would be here and it still had not arrived. My assistant Vanessa called and he said he had sent it first class ( I still have not recvd it and the birthday is today)Vanessa asked Zack why he had not contacted me and his answer was "he did not know why he hadnt" she asked him what he was going to do to accommodate the situation and he said he would have to get back to her. The worst customer service I have ever recvd. 7/21/2007

Lazy Management! On Monday, July 16th I called the Restuarant in Opelika, I spoke to a gentleman name Zack, I told him I wanted to purchase a gift certificate for a friend, he was fine with doing the transaction over the phone, he took my name, address and phone number. My assistant Vanessa called and he said he had sent it first class ( I still have not recvd it and the birthday is today)Vanessa asked Zack why he had not contacted me and his answer was ""he did not know why he hadnt"" she asked him what he was going to do to accommodate the situation and he said he would have to get back to her. He created this whole situation by not communicating with us. I have called three times and he has refused to take my call and Vanessa has called twice. I wanted the birthday party to be able to pick the GC up there and I would return the other when it finally arrives. But Zack will not take my calls and I even left him that in a message. FYI my credit card was charged on the 16th and Zack never called to tell me there was a problem. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever seen. I would like a response soon. I cant believe that companies employ such unprofessional managers. Cons: Lousy Customer Service more

So Good and A Lot of Fun for the Kids!! 11/10/2005

This restaurant was first and foremost very attractive to me because it is away from all the noise and traffic that you find surrounding many other restaurants in the Auburn-Opelika area. There is a wonderful little outside eating area that overlooks the large pond. The kids get to feed the turtles, and that keeps them busy while you are waiting for the food. The catfish is delicious, and they have the best tartar sauce I have ever eaten!! more

Relaxed Atmosphere 9/27/2005

If you are looking for a relaxed atmosphere. With a southern hospitality choose Cock of the Walk. They offer chicken, catfish, and seafood. You can Dine -in or carry-out. Party Room are Available. PROS: They just don't offer seafood, they offer catfish and chicken too. CONS: None more
