My father was on their services, at first they gave him the care he needed, after he was with them for a while, the care went down hill, they would call on their scheduled visit to see if he needed them to come. at times they wouldn't show or call, their reasoning was we had an emergency case, short handed, the excuses went on and on. We would have to ask several times for items he needed. on emergency calls, it would take at least 1/12 to 2 hrs for them to show up. at his end of life, i feel like they knew, but were they there for the end- around the clock care his last 24 hrs like they say they will be, no they were'nt, when they seen him that mid afternoon, around 5 hrs before he past, i was told he was doing ok, but he was having apnea, lethargic, and non verbal. having the nursing experience i have no one can tell me that he was ok, when your taking only 1 breath in a 30 sec period, that is not a good sign, you be the judge. Patricia, the adminis. can be very rude, unprofessional and non caring, they should be there not only for the need of the pt, but for the family as well. Was the family given any support at all. No they weren't. when our father was in need for the family to be notified, they never called, I had to call them to check on how he was doing, at all times to get updates. This is not a hospice company i would recommed, not even for my dogs. I have worked with lots of hospice pt's myself and different co in the line of work i do, and i never have seen a company so unorganized and non caring as them. The best care he did recieve was from his aide, and that was about it. Please if you are ever in a situation where you need hopice, take the time to check out several ones before chosing, and dont choose praire view.
