I used to be anti-Sprinkles. I thought it was pretentious, frou-frou, etc. That is, until my co-worker convinced me to try them. My co-workers and I all agree that what makes Sprinkles cupcakes really stand out is the frosting. The cake part isn't special and is sometimes too crumbly. However, if you love chocolate frosting, this place is very good! And I'm very picky about chocolate! Other cupcake bakeries have terrible waxy-textured frosting or are too sugary/lacking in flavor. I recommend the dark chocolate or B&W cupcake for something not too sweet. Their pumpkin and red velvet cupcake is also very good. Seriously better than commercial frosting and whatever is sold in a grocery's bakery-trust me. I'm still cheap and baked/tried them all, but Sprinkles is an indulgence that's worth it.
