My story is similar to many of the guys mentioned below. I already have wireless phone and wanted to upgrade. First, I went to the store and asked what kind of phone I can get. The guy told me that I can get a Samsung phone for $49.99 only if I open a new account and terminate the current one. (This is confirmed to be a lie after talking with the phone carrier's customer service.) I didn't want to pay for $49.99. So he went to check something and told me that it is free after main-in-rebate. (This is similar to the guy's review post below. I wonder if they intended to get $49.99 mail in rebate for themself.) So I agree to sign the new contract with the store with activation fee. However, the carrier's customer service personal told me that I can get exactly the same phone free without activation fee even I don't open the new account, since I am already a customer for 2 years. Knowing that, I went back to the store and told the store what the customer service personal told me next day. I return the phone and ask for refund. (The contract indicated you can return within 3 days of activation.) The guy told me to wait for 4-5 hours to get the refund because they need to verify that the new phone account is terminated. I think this is also a lie, since I confirmed with the carrier's customer service that the new account was no longer acctive after I get out of the store. Since I did not want to argue further and I could not wait so long, I came back few days later. It was Saturday and they told me that they can't refund on weekend. I felt the store lacked business ethics. They were just trying to make every excuse not to give back the refund. I called my friend who happened to be a lawer. She adviced me to tell them to send a check by mail. If I don't receive the check in 5 business days, I can file a consumer report at FTC, consumer report, and phone carrier company. Then they were saying we need to sign some kind of a form to confirm that we receive the money and refuse to do so. I told them that I could sign whatever they want me to sign now and get the check by mail. They refused. At that moment, they already know that somebody who know how to deal with this kind of situation was giving me advices. So finally gave me back the refund. I asked if I need to sign the form they were talking about. They said ""don't need to sign"". This confirmed that there was no such form. I guess this was just another excuse not to give the money back.
Take the advices from the people posted below. Deal with the phone carrier companies (AT&T, T Mobil, Verizon). You are asking for troubles when you walk into the store to do business with them.
Cons: Too many: lies, rip off, insulting customers
